It’s so difficult for us to admit when you can no longer provide all the care requirements for our loved one, but rather than reacting to a crisis, which will inevitably arise, I would personally like to recommend EDS Homecare services.

They have come into our lives and taken on all the care responsibilities with kindness and professionalism.

Never rushed, the care staff offer individual care, personally tailored to your loved one’s requirements.

They never leave until they are satisfied that they have completed the care plan and are always asking if there is any more they can do before leaving.

Any difficulties, which the care staff find, are reported immediately and can be resolved with a phone call to medical professionals or to family members.

The whole team are polite, professional and caring, nothing is too much trouble.

The charges for their services are very competitive, but the peace of mind is incalculable.

My father died unexpectedly of a stroke and it became clear that he had been ‘covering’ for mum’s early signs of dementia.

EDS responded quickly to our enquiry, made an assessment and scheduled in visits immediately. In the initial stages mum was reluctant to accept help but the carers established a great relationship and it helped that the same people were there on a regular basis.

We had a weekly timetable of visits – it was good to know who was going in and when so we gradually got to know the staff. It was particularly nice that carers took the time simply to chat to mum rather than rushing in and out.

We had regular feedback on how things were going and if they’d spotted problems. As mum’s needs increased additional visits were scheduled in flexibly.

EDS made a huge difference to mum’s quality of life over about 2 years. She’s now in residential care but without EDS that would have happened at least a year earlier.
